Let's get together on touring bike and move through Japan ! For everyone who loves cycling, Japan, nature and travels! 😃 Everyday I'll try to update my trip across Japan. I have 4 months to ride all length! Wish me luck and stay tuned 😃 Kajka in Japan, 2020
What’s up guys! 😄 Today I’ve managed to ride 70 km from Nagano to Jōetsu. But 50km of it was in rain…. 🌧️🌧️😢
So … I took not so many pictures today. It was awful. But now I know that I can ride in every weather conditions 😂🌧️
From Nagano to Iiyama it wasn’t raining. It was nice but humidity was high. Then unfortunately rain started pouring from the sky. Everything was wet 😂 but then I’ve arrived to Jōetsu.
Jōetsu is really empty town. I hope for tomorrow visit the Takeda castle and ride to the coast and harbour !😄 💪🏻🚴
Now. In this moment. Relaxing in bed. Watching YouTube while my stuffs are drying 😂🙂
Has it been 10 days already? Time flies fast. And first day without getting on bike. Let’s sightseeing for a day !😄 Visited Snow Monkey Park in Jigokudani valley, Yudanaka, Nagano.
For now it was hard to get to the park, due to suspension of some buses and trains going there. I’ve spend 1,5h hour on one way to get the Yudanaka Sta. And then 40min by walk to the park. But it was worth it. Weather was perfect and I’ve meet a lot of monkeys 🐵
Highly recommended even in the summer season. But of course it’s better in winter to go there. You can only imagine how adorable these monkeys are, relaxing in onsen covered with snow.
Then I simply came back to Nagano, ate a dinner and now I’m preparing for tommorow! Yeah I must have to do the laundry etc. etc. 🙈
It was different day from when I started riding every day on bike. It’s strange to walk around without worrying where can I park my bicycle or just normally take an expensive train….
Ahhahaahahaha so thank you for today. I’m really well now and have power to move forward 🚴🚴🚴
So tommorow.. Can I managed to see the sun set on the beach of Japanese sea?🤔
I wake up very early. So after breakfast I was ready to go to Nagano. Fortunately the road was simple and nice. I want to visit Zenkoji Temple for today and rest some time. Bathing in onsen in the evening and eating delicious regional food. I’m going to stay in Nagano two nights. For tommorow I’ve planned Jigokudani valley and snow monkeys. 🏞️🙂
My distance today. 🚴
Zenkoji Temple, very big and stunning temples I’ve ever seen. The weather is also nice. Around 30°C degrees.
Zenkōji Temple.
In the afternoon I’ve rest a little because I think I’m not going to rush every day… My **s must rest too 😂🚴 I ate local Miso ramen and get onsen baths.
Miso ramen Nagano style.
So I was basically walking around central Nagano. That was really refreshing after a week on the bike, walking getting more strange 😂?
I started very late on the morning and without any plan I’ve just visited Matsumoto castle and surroundings. I was amazing!!
Nawate street which is famous for old street market.
Matsumoto castle, one of the top three beautiful castles in Japan which weren’t damaged during wars.
I was really lazy and riding around just seeing Museum of Art in Matsumoto, birthplace of Yayoi Kusama. Then go for shopping 😂 to buy a new amazing jacket for cycling.Protection from UV 😂
So it was really late for going by bike to my planned place. But finally I move from Matsumoto to Chikuma.
It takes 5 hours because I choose road which was going through mountains. And near the lake Hijiri I heard bears 🐻 the two of them were on the opposite side of lake. I was so scared that without any reasonable thought I’d dashed down to the Chikuma valley. NEVER EVER RIDING AFTER SUNSET. 😩
My Endomondo stats . Matsumoto ➡️ Chikuma.
Actually I found the cheapest place to sleep in Kamiyamadaonsen. Safety arrived about 9 P.M😂 as I said, never ever riding after twilight.
Thank you and sorry for late update. In my hostel there wasn’t any WiFi. Or it was but my phone didn’t work with it?😳
Hahahahahaahaaaaaha it was amazing day ! At first hard and exhausting but after visiting Suwa and going to Matsumoto, everything went well 😊
So far in this journey my longest distance. 💪🏻🚴
In the morning I left Nirasaki, thinking that I’ll probably stay in Suwa. But after yesterday’s rain, weather was better and the ride was ok. So I’ve decided to go forward to Matsumoto. 🚴
Sightseeing in Suwa city, Takashima castle, Suwa lake, stunning views ♥️
And for today I was hoping not to ride all these 89km, it supposed to be 80km. But…. When I saw this sign I’ve decided to go longer way nor the shortcuts 😂😂😂
It’s about…bears 🐻… Be careful with bears…. Well OK, welcome in forests and mountains 😂🐻🏞️
And I’ve arrived in the evening to Matsumoto.
It was such a good day 💪🏻🚴
Good night everyone (in Japan is 11 p.m) !!! 😊 Hope you like it 😊
It will be quickly, that wasn’t my day for ride. 🥵😩 because of all conditions I must rest a little. Also there was a heavy rain with thunders, so I just move a little.
From Kōfu ➡️ Nirasaki 🙂
But still in the morning I’ve visited some temples and try local food. 🙂 Kōfu is known from grapes and vineyards.
You can’t see it on the pictures but weather today was horrible… 😦
Thanks a lot !🚴🚴🚴
Hope that tommorow I’m gonna make another goal ➡️Matsumoto.??¿ 無理かな?🤔
Hello everyone! I’m glad you are still with me 😊 Today was very interesting but exhausting day😩 I think I’m gonna rest tommorow cause what’s funny my arms hurts. Not my legs but arms are in pain… Obviously that because my hands not used to press the brakes and lean my weight of body all of the time.
Fujiyoshida ➡️ Kōfu 🚴 with sightseeing = around 62,5 km
My Endomondo didn’t work because it lost GPS signal. In the region of Fuji and Aokigahara forest it’s very popular. I didn’t have any signal at all. So that’s way in 2 parts today. Sorry 😦
Now is time for pictures 🚴🗻 enjoy!
Kitaguchi-hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, Fujiyoshida.
Five lakes of Mt. Fuji. I think I’ve visited them all 🗻
Aokigahara Jukai. Known as ‚the suicide forest’ is the very dense forest located near Fuji. Very interesting place with very bad history because of people coming here for suicidal attempts.
Narusawa Ice Cave 😊It happens that my bike was taking a photo of me and Mt. Fuji 😂🗻
Hope you like it! Thank you all for reading my blog! yours Kajka ♥️
Mountains, mountains and more mountains… It was very hard to ride through this road. But worth it. I started in Sagamiko and finish line was in Fujiyoshida. Around 55 km. Enjoy the photos 🚴 😊
Hoping for tomorrow Mt. Fuji will be not covered by clouds!
On the way was really hard cause of mountain terrain 😩🚴
You know that Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. The active stratovolcano has 3 776,24 m. It is also called a sacred mountain and it’s cultural icon in Japan. My Endomondo stats. 🙂
Thank you all! Hope you like it! Be ready for the next day!🚴😊
Or children day? In Poland we celebrate Children’s day on 1st of June.
How it’s combined with my trip? 😂 Oh it’s simple. I was spending time with my friends and gathering the last things before my journey. So that’s 02/06 is my second day of trip. 😉
Photos from today (02.06.20), Yokohama Chinatown, at night. I don’t know why in previous post I can’t upload them ;(
